Ingredient Testing and Certification                                                                                                       
Canomiks received almost $1 million of funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop a genomics and AI technology that develops new botanical ingredient standards. This technology can test the biological effect of each ingredient to reduce challenges related to batch-to-batch variation due to different suppliers, crop strains, harvest times, or extraction methods. Canomiks’ prototype with this technology used AI to comb thousands of data points to determine a standard for pure turmeric, and they can test any batch of turmeric against this standard to determine batch-by-batch quality and efficacy. Canomiks will soon develop standards for more ingredients, including elderberry and cranberry. Each ingredient that meets Canomiks’ standard can receive a CanTRUST by Canomiks™ seal of approval. Canomiks’ solutions make validation and quality control more accessible to smaller companies that don’t have access to R&D departments. They also make the use of botanical ingredients safer for larger, more risk-averse companies.
