I have struggled with foot and knee problems since I was a little girl, and have been wearing orthopedic shoes for as long as I can remember. Not only do they provide support for me, but they also provide much needed comfort to help me get through my day.
A few years ago, I developed Type 2 diabetes and began to experience more excruciating pain in my legs and knees. It was so bad that it was affecting everything I did in and outside the home. I could barely get up and down stairs to do my routine household chores.
I missed being able to enjoy many of the activities I was use to doing all of the time. I was so active, and now I felt stagnant. My husband and I were use to doing all kinds of activities together, like walking, going to the gym, and more. Suddenly, I found that my knee and foot pain were slowing me down and putting a halt on many of the activities I use to enjoy doing, such as krav maga, aerobics and other outdoor activities. I even found myself struggling to get my walking in on many days due to knee and joint pain, and exercising was becoming a chore as well.
I wound up having a major surgery on my knee a couple of years ago, and still need another. My doctor has stressed to me, the importance of good orthotics to help with knee and leg pain, so that it reduces stress on my feet, legs and knees. If you find yourself suffering from foot, knee and leg pain orthotics are very beneficial.
I like that the custom orthotics help to align my feet properly and help to prevent pain from my moderate pronation. I also like the materials the orthotics are made from. They help to absorb shock of each steps, so my feet and legs aren’t fatigued at the end of the day. The best part about custom orthotics is that they can be used in almost any shoe. Now I don’t have to go searching for shoe styles I’d like to wear with hopes they come in an orthopedic version, because my orthotics can slip right into my shoes.
The orthotics save me time and money, and keep my feet, legs and knees feeling so much better.
