Gennaro Contaldo's SLOW Reveals the Secrets of Easy, Delicious Meals

This cookbook is filled with so many of my favorite Classic and comfort recipes. I love that SLOW has photographs along with the recipes in this book. The photos always make nice suggestions for serving. I can’t wait to make some delicious Chicken Cacciatore and Pane dolce Al cioccolato (Chocolate brioche).

Savor the art of slow cooking the Italian way, where flavors deepen and texture is softened to create comforting, inexpensive meals with little fuss.

Introducing Slow: Easy, comforting Italian meals worth waiting for [Interlink Books, an imprint of Interlink Publishing; October 2024], a new cookbook from beloved Italian chef Gennaro Contaldo that shows you how to prepare authentic Italian meals in minutes with minimum effort by letting your oven or appliance do the work.

Gennaro shares more than 100 soul-warming recipes for one-pot soups and stews, slow-cooked pasta sauces, tender root vegetables, braised meats, soft breads and sticky desserts. With a selection of plant-based and budget-friendly family meals, this is food worth waiting for. Recipes include:

  • Minestra di verdure e riso (Vegetable soup with rice)
  • Il ragù antico (Slow-cooked ragu)
  • Ragù vegano di lenticchie (Vegan lentil ‘bolognese’)
  • Bollito misto con salsa verde (Mixed boiled meats served with salsa verde)
  • Zucca ripiena arrostita (Whole roasted and filled pumpkin)
  • Pastizada alla Veneta (Venetian pot roast)
  • Panettone (Traditional Italian Christmas cake)
  • Babà all’arancia (Orange-infused baba)
  • And much more!

Slow cooking is one of my favorite ways to cook: it’s simple, stress-free and allows you to get on with other things safe in the knowledge that slowly, slowly the stovetop or oven is doing its job,” Gennaro says. “Stews and sauces bubble on the stovetop, a roast cooks in the oven with herbs gently infusing the meat, breads and cakes bake, all filling the house with mouth-watering smells and creating that special warmth that nothing else can.”

I’d love to send you a copy for review, share recipe excerpts for publication, and/or coordinate an interview for you with Gennaro. Please let me know if you’re interested!
