With Hispanic Heritage Month in September, I wanted to introduce you to a small business that makes beautiful greeting cards. The brand is Paper Tacos, a collection of Spanish-language greeting cards offering a thoughtful way to mark any occasion with just the right note. They also have a few English cards as well!
I received a few card samples from Paper Taco and immediately fell in love with the adorable puns and art of each card. Each card was blank inside, so they can be written to my recipient, any way I’d like. I especially love the Flan-tastic birthday card.
Paper Tacos is the brainchild of artist Jesús Ruvalcaba. He taps into the beautiful culture he was raised in to create a line of cards that bring smiles to the faces of the sender and the recipient. Their mission is to bring authentic Mexican culture to the greeting card industry!
With 29.5K followers on IG and selling hundreds of cards a year, this greeting card brand is not to be overlooked.

What makes Paper Tacos stand out:
- There’s deep cultural heritage in every card! - growing up as a first-generation son to immigrant parents, Jesus didn't see cards with cultural significance—just generic offerings. Many of his cards illustrate the nostalgia of growing up in a Hispanic household.
- His designs are authentic! - Jesus comes up with 90% of designs for each card (he’s a graphic designer as well)
- According to the 2019 U.S. Census Bureau population estimate, Hispanics represent 18.4 percent of the U.S. total population - this community of people must see greeting cards that represent them and their culture and Paper Tacos is making that happen!
- There’s a card for every occasion! - from birthdays to anniversaries, Halloween, and more, you are sure to find a casually tones card (like you’re talking to your BFF) that your loved one is going to appreciate
