I was sent some samples of Congo Tropical’s delicious plantain chips in their salted, garlic and maduro (sweet plantain) varieties.
Plantains have always been one of my favorite types of chip. Congo chips are much better quality than some other brands I’ve had. Their chips are thicker and taste fresher. I love them and will not be eating the old brands I’ve had that fall apart and crumble. These chips hold their shape and are so crispy.
You can purchase their fresh tropical fruits on their website and Amazon. The chips are available on their website.

This special Congo Plantain Maqueño, or Matoke, is grown in Ecuador. It is actually a banana indigenous to southwest Uganda, however, it is referred to as a plantain because it is often cooked rather than eaten raw. Plantain matoke is shorter than Barraganete plantains but thick towards the mid-section.
