Ways to Make Your Hair Look Fuller or Longer

I have thin shoulder length hair.  I often see beautiful longer hair styles that I’d love to try.  From high pony tails, to long luxurious waves. I would love to try a new look. But also know that the type of hair I have isn’t conducive to some of those hair styles.

There are lots of tricks and tips that can be used to help hair look longer and fuller. Many are a lot easier and affordable than you think.  Here are a few ways to help you achieve the look you want.


Tease Your Hair

Hair teasing or back combing has been around forever.  It is done by using a teasing comb and repeatedly combing hair toward your scalp. This causes the hair to tangle and knot and gives an illusion of fullness and height.  Teasing hair takes practice, but once mastered is an inexpensive way to give lift to your hair.  Teasing Improperly can cause damage to hair,  and requires using other hair products to maintain the stiffness and hold if not done correctly.  

Curl Your Hair

Using hot rollers or a curling iron can add fullness to hair and give it more volume. Depending where you want more volume and how much volume you want, is where you would use the curlers or irons.  Also, the size of the curlers and width of the irons will also determine the amount of volume you get.

Hair Extensions

Using professional and popular hair extensions  gives length and or volume to your hair.  Good quality hair extensions can be dyed to match your hair color and used to give your hair those desired styles you love.  They come in both human hair and synthetic hair.
