Happy 90th Birthday Mickey Mouse

I remember as a little girl hurrying home from school and putting on Mickey Mouse club reruns so that I could see the Mickey cartoons that came on during the show.  Through the years, my love for Mickey never ceased.  

A month after I got married, my husband and I took a trip to Disney World in Florida.  Sadly, I didn't see Mickey there that day.  I was so busy exploring the park, I didn't run into him.  

Two years ago, I went back to Disney and this time, I got to meet my beloved Mickey Mouse.  It was a thrill of a lifetime for me.  It was almost as if he were real.  When I go to Disney World I become a child again.  I go back to a time when nothing mattered and I didn't have a care in the world.  Disney has a special way of doing that for me.

90 years ago today Walt Disney introduced a friendly little mouse to the world that would become loved and adored for generations.  His name is Mickey Mouse

Steamboat Willie was the very first on screen animation that Mickey Mouse starred in.

Since then, Mickey's population has skyrocketed to the point that he has hundreds of thousands of pieces of memorabilia sold in his likeness yearly.  He also  has theme parks throughout the world that bring joy and happiness to millions.

Did you know that Walt Disney was the original voice of Mickey Mouse?  Mickey's very first words were Hot Dog! They were verbalized in July of 1929.  

Today Mickey Mouse celebrates his 90th birthday.  Let's take a look at the evolution of Mickey Mouse over the years:

Mickey holds a special place in all of our lives, so today we celebrate him and all of the joy he has brought to us all.  

I guess you can say, there is a little bit of Mickey in all of us.
