If you’re heading to America this year or just exploring your own backyard, you may want to consider taking a trip to Maine. Maine is magnificently filled with exciting activities, stunning beauty spots and exquisite dining delicacies. If you don’t believe me, you’ve probably never been, but I have a sneaking suspicion that is about to change.
Visit A Gorgeous National Park
Yes, there are national parks all over the country, but with its rolling grass hills and lush landscapes, Maine is rather special with Acadia standing out as the emerald jewel. If you’re travelling there, make sure you start by taking a trip up to the top of Cadillac Mountain. The beautiful peak is the perfect spot for a few selfies which will look great on your travel blog. Not much of a climber? That’s alright, there’s a road all the way to the top, but if you are up for a challenge, you can also take an afternoon hike. It’s exhausting but reaching the highest point is completely rewarding.
Stay In Fantastic Hotels
Maine knows how to treat tourists that’s for sure. You’ll find plenty of wonderful places to stay like the Days Inn - Brunswick Bath Area is well known for this particularly little tourist getaway. With luxurious rooms and wonderful extras for families or couples, it’s a great place to stay. Of course, Maine is also the perfect place to try something completely different when looking for holiday accommodation. Have you ever stayed on a houseboat? You can in Maine, and there is something truly tremendous about waking up with gorgeous views of a crystal clear leak or a flowing, glistening river.
We Promised Fine Food…
You won’t be disappointed if you take a bite out of Maine yourself. From gorgeous, scrumptious pastries like the one in the FB post above to sandwiches stuffed with every possible filling, Maine has a treat for any taste preference you can think of. Make sure you stop off at all the little bakeries and sandwich because they each have their own unique, delicious and delightful dish for you to try.
Visit Hermit’s Island
If you want to be completely detached from urban life, Maine has the spot for you. You just need to take a trip to Hermit’s Island. There you’ll find a wondrous place for camping, and we suggest you consider finding a spot on the rocky hilltops. You’ll wake up to a tremendous view every morning. There are lots to do here too from swimming in a shallow pool that is wonderfully warm in the summer to enjoying some delightful fish treats at the Kelp Shed.
Although, we think the best reason to book a stay on Hermit’s Island aside from the perfectly apt name is the wildlife. Keep watch because it’s not uncommon to see some deer roaming around and many more animals may wander up to say hello during your trip here.
We hope you see now that Maine is filled with awesome possibilities and this is just the tip of the iceberg. With so many awesome things to see and do Maine should be the ‘main’ place to visit this year.
