Maverick and Me is an adorable story about animal adoption.  It was written by ASPCA Ambassador Katherine Schwarzenegger.

In this book, sweet little Maverick is found abandoned and ill, by a loving woman who takes him into her home and nurses him back to health.  Once Maverick is healthy, he is then taken to a local adoption event to be put up for adoption.   

On adoption day, Maverick sits in his cage all day waiting for someone to come along and give him his forever home, but the day is drawing to a close and he is the only dog left to be adopted.  Just then, little Scarlett happens to show up at the event with her mother, who has no intentions of adopting a dog.

When Scarlett's mother sees the beautiful bond between Maverick and her daughter, she decided to adopt him.

Maverick instantly knows he has found a new best friend, his forever home and will always be loved.

This book is beautifully illustrated with vivid colors and pictures that tell the story so candidly.

It tells a wonderful story of love and the bond between an animal and their family.
